Has anyone transitioned out of the law into a PM role, ideally in tech? I think this is likely the career pivot I am going to try to make in the next year or so (understanding the market is terrible for this right now) and am wondering what your experience was like.

Background: I have a stem (non-coding) degree (but have basic ability to code and can read code no problem) and have worked as a patent (software and high tech) and trade secret (source code) litigator for 4 years.

£50k TC, 2.6YoE working within the change arm of a bank ——- what do experienced fishes think is a good next move for someone like myself? Might want to move into consulting one day with ultimate aim of MBB but also enjoy technical coding work, particularly in credit risk / counterparty credit risk in banking — could use some fresh perspective ; quite confused atm as interested in many things! Don’t mind staying in change management either TIA - appreciate any advise

How important is prestige for exit opportunities compared to actual work done? Will a big name firm always trump a smaller less known firm that your average person doesn't know?

I got an offer from Capgemini for Manager/C2 designation with a CTC of 24 LPA. I just wanted to know the roles and responsibilities at this designation.
Will it be a profile shift from technical to managerial position or is just a designation (as per HR) the actual job would be to lead/guide any team?

I currently work at a medium sized firm and have about two years experience in personal injury litigation. The billable hours and lack of work life balance are really getting to me and I am looking to switch to something else out of litigation, preferably in house. I have been overworked and overwhelmed at my current job for quite a while. This is my first position out of law school, small firm with large caseload, and in my second year of practice. I often think I should look for another opportunity elsewhere but I don't know that any other firms would give me the potential for growth and experience that I am getting here. What are other 2nd year associates doing at other firms? Trying to gauge if I really am getting more opportunities here

What’s the typical salary for a GC VC role? They indicated they would pay in line with big law plus equity upside. It would be their first GC outside hire. Curious what the equity percentage would be?

One of my junior associates recently resigned and I've been trying to make an exit myself for several months now. The job market has been really competitive but I am getting closer to getting a new job and moving on. The firm culture isn't great and work-life balance is non existent. My physical and mental health have been suffering, so I really don't think I could stay. How did you avoid the guilt trips from Partners/Senior staff trying to get you to stay?
