Have my current 401k with fidelity. Does anyone know if the "record keeping fee" is specific to all fidelity accounts or just bc I chose to do the automatic life path 2060 fund?

TIA!

There’s usually a recurring management fee. This expense ratio varies on which fund you’ve chosen and how actively/passively it’s being managed by the brokerage firm.

like

Okay thanks!

A record keeping fee is something all 401ks have - not affected by which funds you choose, so you’re good.

like

All 401ks have these fees. Some employers pick up the fees and others pass them on to their employees. It’s very nominal so not a big deal. Well’s Fargo has the same

I am doing a back door Roth IRA through Vanguard and while everything makes sense to me, I am unsure if an additional $6000 be invested for a non working spouse. We satisfy the criteria but two questions - 1) Is this still valid I.e., $12k can be invested for 2021? And 2) Any insight into how this is done - Vanguard doesn’t let me add more than $6k as it’s above the individual limit. I tried searching the bowl for specific answers but wasn’t successful. Inputs appreciated.

My thinking is that we (i) put $200k+ down and get a 5/1 ARM. (ii) put everything we save moving forward toward paying down the principal (after maximizing retirement accounts). Should be able to do $100k per year. (iii) If rates go down below 4.5ish % for 15 year fixed, refinance and stop aggressive payment. Thoughts on this approach?
