I can imagine it will be challenging at Deloitte for a while given what your employee did in New Orleans. It would stick in my mind for a while given what happened.

Past 2 years, yes. As much as I wanted to point fingers at others or circumstances, most of the times reasons are with myself. I had lost the motivation at work, was not excited with next step (partner), family issues etc. Even the smallest tasks would take forever. I dont think there is a perfect answer how to get back.

I am trying to stick to a daily routine, hit gym, take supplements daily. It helps the mood to be set each day (which is the key). I no longer trust in motivation, I am believing in discipline.

Love this and I’ve been there. Creating and maintaining a baseline is key and yes, some days will be harder than others but your awareness and dedication will get you through. Keep it up!

I'm entering my final year of law school but am going part time since I work full time as a paralegal. I have been a paralegal for more 10+ years and I want to open my own firm after I pass the bar.

Has anyone done this right out of law school? Any advice?

Additional Posts in Partner One

I've heard a couple of things about how the partner pension amount @ PwC is determined, both similar in approach.

Both calculations I have heard of result in an annuity paid until death, at which point a surviving spouse (if any) receives the annuity.

The first calculation I have heard is that you get 80% of your highest earning year as a partner (e.g. If your best year was $1M, you'd get $800k as an annuity).

The second calculation I have heard is that they look at your three highest earning years as a partner, and take the second highest and you get 100% of that. (e.g if your three highest earning years were $1M, $800k, and $1.2M, you'd receive $1M as an annuity).

Is ANY of this true, or just all rumor? Any PwC partners that can chime in and explain the pension plan fact for fact? Perhaps with sample numbers?
