Have you ever suspected you lost an interview or got shut out from an agency because a jealous rival (ex colleague, ex classmate) used their voice to block you?

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

I guess Luck matters a lot even if you perform well. There would be always someone who will do better than you.

Every time I turn something in, manager always find faults in them

A partner put me in charge of a specific project that I ran independently. Things were going well. The client began asking me to do more and more, including revamping their system and internal trainings. The client even gave me a litigation matter. Suddenly, the partner became more involved. I was removed from meetings concerning the revamping, my trainings were cancelled, and he started micromanaging. He has now sidelined me from the project and trash talked me to the client. I am very upset.

I interviewed with a company last week and the interviewer said he would submit my notes to the hiring manager and I would hear back this Monday from HR on next steps/if they want to move forward. I didn’t hear back yesterday so I emailed HR and she said she wasn’t part of the hiring decision so would reach out to the initial interviewer for his feedback. I haven’t heard from her and it’s been 24 hours - starting to get worried. What should I do? Does this mean they’re not interested?

.they asked whether they can schedule interview on Wednesday....i said Yes.

But somehow I get schedule cancellation e-mail on or before Tuesday & the process continues from last 1.5 months

I have a contact who is a hiring mgr at a company I want to work for. He told me he has an open role for me and set me up with 6 interviews over a 2 week period. They all went really well and HR said I’ll most likely be moving forward to a site visit. But now my contact has ghosted me. After I made 3 outreaches he had his aa schedule time for two weeks out. It’s hard to be motivated when rounds of layoffs happen and you see all your friends leave. But one thing that’s gotten me through all of this is working out. And when I say workout I mean the most pathetic, sad, barely completed beginner-level cardio dance routines. I’ve somehow forced myself to move while on lockdown and it’s somehow forced me to feel better. Can someone explain how billable hours work? At a new agency and although I had to fill timesheets at my previous agencies, they were mainly used to ensure we weren’t over servicing a client/for setting the appropriate retainer for contract renewals. I asked ppl at my agency but haven’t gotten a proper explanation. I get the impression that billing to the agency admin code isn’t recommended, and my manager said he bills everything to client codes, but that doesn’t make sense to me .

Any agencies that have a good reputation, but suck when you actually work there? Wonder why that happens?
