Hello All- In need of advice here. I was a BDR at Oracle-Netsuite for a year and was promoted to AE this past January. I was recently let go due to mass layoffs. The problem I keep running into in interviews is that they say I interview well but I just don’t have enough AE experience. I really don’t want to be a BDR again.
My Regional Sales Director said he’s more than happy to be a referral to any hiring manager to reiterate my layoff was just bad timing and poor luck. Any advice is helpful.

I wanted to know how long does Course5i take to release an offer, I cleared all rounds last friday and was going to get an offer from HR early this week (by Monday evening or Tuesday) but didn’t get any offer till now.

I loved the role and I am still excited to join the organisation so mailed a follow up to the HR yesterday but did not get any response till now. I do not want to follow up for the next 1-2 days since I feel it would be too pushy from my end.

Now I’m actively looking for a new sales position, have tons of experience, but am struggling to even get a response from job apps. I am wondering if this is because of my employment gap? I don’t have my side business listed on my resume because I don’t feel like I have enough positive “stats” to report yet given it’s new. Any advice or recommendations?

What are your top excel functions you use in finance / accounting - besides vlookup - Pivots - sumifs - count - index. I have an interview coming up which will have excel based technical questions. Not sure what other functions are considered important in the accounting finance world.

I've a question on what sections to put on a regular resume. I see some people are using consulting style resume for outside companies as well. Do you think it's a good idea to devide work experience by projets? Or is it better to have "projects highlights" separate from work experience.. something like: intro>functional expertise> project highlights>work experience>education?

One of my senior managers is a boomerang and told me she was laid off when she was 7 months pregnant about 10 years ago. I think she was a senior or manager. She was in a specific group and everybody was laid off. It wasn’t performance based.

I had a job interview for a role that I really want. The hiring manager scheduled me for an interview and did not show up. I was scooting around some podcasts and found a podcast addressing “ageism” in hiring! Im just wondering is this a thing? In the podcast the author stated some hiring managers won’t hire under 25 or over 60. Thoughts on this.
