Hello! I have been in private wealth management since 2009 and formally an advisor on my own book for the last 9 years. I am currently working in the Private Bank and am considering a switch somewhere that I can build and own my book of business in a team oriented environment. I’m considering an opportunity with a large RIA but wondering if anyone has insight into Morgan Stanley Private Wealth? What is it like to be a financial advisor there?

Thoughts on Wealth Management as an industry? Offered a role to work under a senior FA and eventually take over the book (~$800M AUM and growing). It sounds great, but I am worried about the disruption this industry is facing with Robo advisors and other low cost, DIY options. Wanted to bring out that staff-1's are paid peanuts (3.33L CTC) please don't expect them to slog 12-13 hours. They don't have enough motivation or incentives to work that long. Seniors,AM's and Managers should be more kind and explain the work to them clearly rather than making last minute changes.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. I’ve completed the first interview with the hiring manager and a colleague, and have been fortunate to get to the next stage but im unsure how to prepare. I’ve done the usual compentencies, strengths and weaknesses and company research.
