As a mom (and hit the top creatively) with 20 years experience I would say you won’t fall behind or miss anything in 3 months. Let yourself enjoy the moment - 3 months is nothing in the big scheme of your career. If you have to change partners it was me at to be.
You will be shocked at how little changes in your job in 3 months compared to what changed in your life in the same three. I would actually suggest taking 4 or 5 months if you can. The 4 month sleep regression made it a difficult time to go back to work. Your career might change but you will only get better as a parent.
What CD1 said. 3 months is nothing (so enjoy it as much as you can). They’ll do temporary coverage from someone else in the agency or a freelancer and then you will slide right back in when you’re back. It’s actually against the law to not have your job waiting for you when you get back.
Exactly. In 3 months they’ll still be making revisions to the same projects you were when you left to have your baby
It’s easier to catch up in your career than in parenthood, but you also won’t need to. Three months, even six months, is nothing. I remember the exact same fear but having a child only added to my life.
Worked with a senior account director who took 2 years off for her baby and came back and bounced back and was promoted within 6 months back! Trust me, whether it’s 12 weeks or a year, you won’t be behind!
