Charlotte (specifically Dilworth, Myers Park, Elizabeth, Chantilly, and South Park)
We would like something semi urban / suburban where we can walk to shops, restaurants, schools, but have a little less congestion. And we would like to move somewhere sunny. Good restaurants and a good airport, walkability, excellent public schools, a house with a back yard are all important to us. Any suggestions? We are open to all parts of the us
Oak Park?
Oak park would be perfect if we could move it to somewhere with better weather
Tampa, FL
San Diego, CA
Dallas, TX
Thanks for the specific towns around Charlotte. Are there specific towns or neighborhoods you would suggest in Tampa or San Diego?
San Diego has a wide variety of choices depending on your budget. A lot of area with great public school ratings. Weather is consistent all year round. And beaches, island and sea ports - all around the city or just driving distance
Scripps Ranch, Mira Mesa, Rancho Penasquitos and Rancho Bernardo are good area with decent housing price. All great school.
If you can afford more, you can look at Del Mar, La Jolla and sorento Valley.
A little bit far north of fwy 56 like San Marcos and Escondido, Carlsbad is cheaper housing, still great neighborhood but just a bit far to SD airport if you are traveling frequently
Santee, El Cajon and La Mesa is good too but a bit far from the beaches.
Grosse Pointe (any of the 5 communities), Royal Oak, Birmingham - all in Michigan
Dallas.. better weather rest of the year except for summer, no state taxes..pocket it
However, poor public transportation and peaking real estate market
The North Carolina options above are all good ones, especially Myers Park and Dilworth. Are you white? The Weddington and Waxhaw options are good too, but no diversity. The Lake towns like Cornelius and also Davidson ( not a lake town but up that ways) are awesome too. Arlington and Annapolis in the DC area, and Scottsdale, Fountain Hills and Paradise Valley in AZ are good warm weather options. So are...man. It’s a big country.
My wife and I are American born Korean, but we both grew up in mostly white communities. I am in Los Angeles now and drove around a bit this morning I love the beverlywood neighborhood, Cheviot hills. But it looks like anything decent is well over 3m. Pretty incredible. I’m going to drive over to Pasadena tonight and check it out. From trulia, looks like you can get something nice with a yard for around 1.8m or so
I'm in Colorado and you are describing Stapleton. Check it out. It's Urban/suburban. I hate that I'm recommending more ppl move here but it does sound like it would fit the bill. I'm in another neighborhood that fits the bill except walkable to restaurants.
