AWS cloud application architect. Had an on-site interview with AWS a few days ago and just got an email saying they want to talk to me about next steps. The role is cloud application architect but I want to ask them about the senior cloud application architect role. I have all the relevant experience for that role and feel like I’d be a better fit for that senior role. How should I approach this conversation? Is this even possible? Amazon

You’re considering moving for $12k?
No idea what cost of living difference is, but unless you are in Minneapolis, SLC maybe higher cost of living than where you currently live. That plus added cost of commuting could eat away at a lot of that $12k. If you want to move to SLC, sounds like a good excuse. If the job is that much of a dream job over current, then also valid. But if the only motivation is the money and you like Minnesota, it sounds like a lot of hassle for not a lot of upside
I'm with the majority here. I'd rather stay remote for that small a diff. Unless you really just want to live in Utah, I wouldn't do it. Of course, we don't have all the details that you have and we're just peering through a tiny peep hole, but unless there's something else tuggin on your strings, I wouldn't take it.
unless you are of a particular religion/culture that is prominent in Utah, and really want to live in SLC, I would not move there for 12k
