Hey guys, just curious: how do exit opportunities compare at the principal level vs. the senior manager level?

Principal is about a year away for me, and I'm wondering if it's worth the slog.

What is the value in professional certifications? ACCA, CFA, CIPD, etc.

When you’re frustrated with a product, do you take that frustration out on the product? Would you go the customer support route?

I have recently received an offer from HSBC for Data Engineer profile. The designation offered is Senior Analyst- Information Management. They said that it is a techno functional role. Does anyone have an idea about what techno functional role actually is in HSBC? Is it more like a Business Analyst? My prior experience is completely in Technical side. Will this role be suitable for me?

Has anyone else had a mentor (assigned to them by the Company) who seemed to have it out for you? I mean downright sabotage to make you look bad left and right. I didn’t realize it at first. She was fake friendly, but she was discrete too. Some of the executives thought she was amazing, but I had to clean up her work all the time. She wasn’t above me either on the chain of command. Later I found out she had tried for the exec assistant role and they didn’t choose her, they wanted me instead.

Got an offer at FAANG for PgM role with 140K in base + 70K in RSU (over 4 years). Have 6 YOE in consulting. With the new increase in pay at PwC the difference does not seem all that much though. Wondering if I got low balled and if there is anyway to renegotiate.

Any Canadian consultants tried exiting to US roles (outside consulting) via Mgmt Consultant TN - did you have success or failure?

I got offer from a product based firm which offered me 24+2(variable) and joining date is on Monday. They have even sent me the laptop and welcome kit. But today I got one more offer from capgemini offering 30lpa. What should I do?

If you are on notice period and not doing work properly or on time then what can be the consequence ?
They cant put me on performance defaulters as I voluntarily resigned and also got good feedback from client.
The reason I resigned was the sh^^head manager and project.
He said I would be released from project soon and then on bench but after resigning he is saying you have to serve the NP n we cant release early.
This is only option left to get released from this sh^t place

Big 4 Partners, what is your take on mental health breaks? If an employee in your team takes a mental health leave would they be looked at unfavourably/ would someone’s candidature be shelved if they say they’re returning from a mental health break and looking for a job at your firm?

Need advice - I've been talking to a Partner contact at a big-4 firm where I REALLY want to work. She sent my info to the managing partner in my city, but I haven't heard anything for about 3 weeks. Been playing it cool because I know these things can take time, BUT, I just got let go from my current firm. I have til 12/15 to find a new job.

I’ve recently started work at a very young tech startup. Coming from a big law background, this was a huge change of pace/environment. I’m having a lot of trouble getting used to how unstructured the startup is. It feels like hire ups give a set of instructions then talk as if they don’t remember, or then decided rules A, B, C and D applies without being clear this was the case. Is this just the general startup environment? If you experienced this before, how did you deal with It?

Some Business Intelligence/Analyst roles are very data heavy. I wonder why these roles do not have the term “data” in them, and wonder if it’s to keep the salary lower than it should be. I have colleagues doing intense data science tasks as BI Analysts, and can’t help but feel indignant on their behalf because when hearing their job title, one would underestimate their technical ability.

Interviewed for dreamy job in dream city last week. Got a ton of buy signs from everyone I met with, especially CEO & CTO. HR said they would reach out early this week but I haven’t heard back yet

Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. Starting in a junior BD Rep role to learn prospecting and earn quota history. Took a big paycut for the potential future earnings as an Account Exec. Did I dun goof? Probably. But I’ll regret it forever if I didn’t take my chance now when I’m still single and young-ish.

Went through final round (3 hour panel interview) and still haven’t heard back 2 weeks later. Common courtesy would be to give me a response no? Or is there a reason I wouldn’t have heard back by now or have been ghosted

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

Been with Big Four advisory (GRC) for 10 years. Really tired of meaningless “consulting” and commoditized implementations. Recently been through a rough job search and finally landed an offer with a mid size bank in their risk practice. People say that the culture there is quite political and bitter but I’ll learn a heck lot and get a new opening on my resume. Salary is the same. The other option is to take a consulting job that pays me 50k more but do the same work! Thoughts? Thanks!
