I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈
Hi all, I just got a job offer at PwC for a senior consultant position. The salary is 30% above my total comp right now, but I’m just worried about the amount of work I will have to put in compared to my amazing work life balance now. Does anyone have any experience moving from industry to consulting? I need some advice on what to do. I’m still early in my career (1.4yoe) so I feel like I shouldn’t care too much about wlb, but at the same time, I don’t want my mental health to suffer either.

Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

It's clearly an acronym for Okra's Disgusting, Just Eat Bacon Instead. It's one of the first things they teach you in barista school so, y'know, you're welcome 👍💪😎
Oh Dang Just Evacuate Bro, Immediately
Rules of hospitality....
1. Never call or email about a job...ever. unless they responded to you and asked you to call
2. Always in person. Be mindful of times. Typically , unless stated in the ad, mon thru fri 2-4 is industry standard.
3. Do not announce your age...ever. regardless if you are 14 or 54.
What I do in thr biz if someone calls....
Caller:
"Are you hiring?"
Me:
" we are always looking for talent" " may I have your name?"
I then write down their name on a DO NOT HIRE list...because they dont know hospitality and actually called a RESTAURANT!!!
The above comment is about the actual restaurant industry...not fast food or quick serve.... if ypu want a 6 figure serving gig part time....disregard the responses from Fast food folks
That looks like a keyboard smash of some sort. Call the Cafe and explain the situation, your confusion surrounding the message and that all you're requesting is clarification on what this response was intended to be.
I looked up aftee what it meant in some languages like Croatian it mean “F*** off” 😭😭😭
I would never hire anybody 14
I started working small gigs at 11, got my first tax paying job at 13 and have been working since. I have more experience then most people my age and it gets me more interviews then my piers. Curtain jobs definitely require people 16 or over, but some positions like barista isn’t one of them
I did a few searches from different sites and it came up all using the F off word. Probably just because you are 14 years old. 16 in the USA and than it’s still very limited.
Most certainly telling you to f*ck off in some eastern european language, maybe look elsewhere 💔
I'd go in to see the owner, and offer to prove your skills and why you would be worth employing. Pay rate should appeal to them and also having a barista so young could be a interesting for customers. Imagine being the youngest champion barista too. They could be working for you! That's what i'd do. I like hiring people willing to back themselves.
That is how I got my first job at 13, I went to the store and asked to speak to the manager, and then showed my skills to her and now I have worked there almost 2 years! :D
You may just be the person that I would wanna hire! Keep it doing your best and maybe go find your own work down a little business or something like that my recommendation
Not sure what that means. Usually you need to be 16 to apply for a position, but I know that could vary by state.
@Cashier Barista Manager, Many localities have provisions for people at young as 13 to get work permits. Most of those also have a school/work program where the kids actually get class.credit for working. In many of these cases the school even arranges transportation.

Damn that’s cold.
Try Dairy Queen they hire your age group. It was my granddaughter first job @ 14 she's now 18 and assistant manager at a clothing store. Good luck
It is a swear in Croatian telling you to go away. I would lodge a complaint with their head office.
As for your job searching, stay strong and continue. I hope school is a part of your life. Education can offer so much more skills you don't think of at fourteen ;)
