Hi all👋 27 and currently a supervisor in a media planning/buying role at a large ad agency. Any advice on getting into new business development (pitching) at my current agency (have already made it clear to higher-ups I’m eager to help with pitching) or anyone know of smaller/mid-size agencies looking for individuals hungry to seek out and help win new business?
Hello! How do I figure out the pay range for a position posted. Looking at a Program Manager position on LinkedIn and the post describes *Colorado minimum salary requirements in the 100k. What level would this be? I was told by an current employee that once you apply for a position the recruiter can only move you up on level, so I don’t want to blow my chances for a lower pay range . Thanks!
Hello, Currently I am making a career shift into an SE role. I have just completed a 10 week PreSales boot camp. I have 5 years of corporate sales experience and am working on AWS and Salesforce certifications as well as some coding training in order to bolster my tech skills. Curious if anyone has recommendation for companies that are open to hiring candidates making a career shift? Or any advice would be great! Thank you!

Hi Guys !!
I got an offer from DELOITTE TOUCHE TOHMATSU INDIA LLP for Analyst Role in Salesforce Development.
If anyone is aware of this company and role, I had few queries regarding the work experience here and do we get appropriate development work.
How is the work environment, is it friendly and positive or not.
Came to know from some articles that there is much more work pressure/tight deadlines in Deloitte as compared to its fellow companies, is this a fact and upto which extent.

What is the learning curve/different expectations for an attorney versus a CPA in a first year associate role? I just started, but a bit confused on how I can best contribute my legal skills and anxious about not being an expert on accounting principles.
Applied at Meta for a Creative X Art Director position. Anyone able to take a look at my portfolio and give me a heads up of the creative hiring process? Thanks
Currently working in the utility industry and working remotely from home and would love to maintain my work life balance. Problem is, I feel like I’ll never make what I deserve in my current role.
I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I enjoy consulting with managers and looking at comp, internal equity and providing data to my hiring managers. I would love to know if there is anyone that has done a similar pivot (whether it's recruiter, HR generalist, etc.) to a Comp Analyst and what that transition has been like.
Why are all of the Amazon “marketing jobs” everything but…marketing. Most that I’ve interviewed for are researchers or marketing data analysts at best. Are there actual creative roles at the company or I being crazy? Got to the panel for a job I’m not sure about after connecting with the hiring manager and realizing there’s no creative ideation at all involved. Don’t want to miss an opportunity to get my foot in the door but jeez…
Any *experienced* AE’s here in the cloud/data management/cybersecurity space interested in a new role?
Veeam, Rubrik, Dell, EMC, IT MSP background is a plus
Happy to refer
I’m currently one of the largest media agencies and we don’t have a comms practice. I’ve applied for connections strategy roles at other agencies but haven’t heard anything back. Looking at my skill set and the job description they seem very aligned. Is it a super competitive field? Where is the most opportunity - creative, media or PR agencies? Is this a dying role and that’s why there aren’t larger teams/available positions?
Still waiting on a written offer but sounds like I will be offered a manager role (current senior) in a different SL. I’m expecting right (25 weeks). I applied for the role in October and it took them months to get the okay to have the role remote, I didn’t think it would happen. Did interviews last week. When do I say I’m expecting? I was planning on waiting until after the written offer? Thoughts?
Which company offers better WLB: Workday or Collaborative? Particularly for integrations medium enterprise practice
My research so far says Workday WLB depends on your manager but you will work 100% billable utilization rate at least. Collaborative you will always meet your billable target and have a great WLB

Anyone have one of those cushy jobs that isn’t fast paced and actually has some level of work life balance but also pays decently? I’m tired of busting my ass and churning out work, being burnt out, with no end in sight.
I’m ready to switch industries or anything to have things be more relaxed - I just can’t take a pay cut. Any advice or ideas aside from accepting the slow death of being overworked forever?
I'm starting at Boston Consulting Group as Associate in Jan and wondering if my programming/data experience (Python and VBA mainly, but nothing is hard to pickup) will be of any use.
Is it going to make me a hot pick for projects (are these projects even good?)
Will it pigeon-hole me into certain roles if I flex it, or should I hide it as my secret sauce?
Is it worth me trying to angle into BCG GAMMA later down the track?
Or is it not really useful at all, and I should just stick to the slides?
As a POC I am so hyper aware of how few POC there are in clients’ offices especially in mid America. Feeling like I’m in the advertising version of Get Out
As a CD looking to hire an AD what would be your opinion on spec work? My book is filled with watered down versions of ideas that conservative clients changed. If I filled my book with ideas that...

I found out I am ~ 5.5 weeks pregnant after I missed my periods and through blood tests. Few days back I had sore breasts and stomach cramping.
Although I still have cramping but the breast soreness has reduced a bit.

If it’s been 180 days since you filed GC application and have received your EAD, do you need to be employed at the same company who filed your GC, for the GC application to continue, or do you need to file a new application?

Living in NYC — to buy a house before 30, how much did you cut back on 401k? I am maxing it out right now (age 23) but after rent and my Roth IRA I am only saving 10-15k every year. Doesn’t look like I’ll be able to afford a house for a while, but is it worth cutting my retirement down to get there faster? If so, how much is reasonable?
You laugh for today….
Additional Posts in New Business. The good, the bad, the ugly.
Any new biz roles open in NY? I’m looking for Account Supervisor level! I’m struggling to find New Business roles in general, I feel sometimes it can be such a niche search. Any tips / words of wisdom?
I’ve seen a lot of agencies bring in freelancers for new business work (either production or concept creating). Would you ever consider bringing in a new business consultant or pitch expert?
I’ve been working on a pitch that continues to get delayed and it’s poorly managed. The RFI was due in July. Then days AFTER submission I received an email from the consultant saying we now had until August. End of September rolls around and frankly I had forgotten about this 100-page beast. They want a meet and greet….the following week. The day before the meet and greet we get a list of questions (that aren’t easy softballs). Now 2 weeks later and nothing. What a gross feeling this process is
Quick Q - how are your comp plans structured ? Not the amounts but more how do you handle recognizing revenue of multi year deals?
I’ve had bad experiences with New Business hired in the past. As in, nothing happened over 6-12 month periods bad. My agency (independent national player with Fortune 500 clients) is asking me to help search for a dedicated resource to business development. What should I be looking for and what should the agency’s expectations be? Thank you!
Hey! First timer. I’m moving over into biz dev and am trying to get a better handle on how you all do this thing!
Is there anything you wish you knew earlier on? Any tips for this new comer is very appreciated
We got a new business email that reads, “Interested in quadrupling my business in six months. Contact me if you can help.” If there’s a marketing firm that can do this, please contact me too.

How do other agencies structure salaries and commissions for new business directors? What commission rate?
We've focused on networking and self promotion through a monthly newsletter for our new business process; sprinkled in with a tiny bit of RFPs. We're considering doing a mailing to targets. Thoughts?
Anybody care to share tactics for negotiating rates with procurement? Know they’re bluffing to drive all competing agencies down, but not sure what leverage we have to push back.
I find myself looking for a new role in agency / production company biz dev. I co-founded a creative production agency back in 2010. Grew it to a staff of 80 FTE, creating strategic content-driven campaigns for brands, tv networks, streamers, platforms, publishers etc. We developed and produced original TV as well. Around 2016 we positioned the company for sale and then sold in Jan 2019. After going over to the acquirer in 2020, I’m now free for the first time in a long time. What to do?
Any McCann NY new business fish in here? I see you have an opening and would love to get the inside scoop.
Hi all! First : shout out to the folks who sold the super bowl clients! Question for all. What tools are you using for biz dev? For finding clients specifically. We are a video production house so our needs may be different but we want to grow direct to client work as well. I know of winmo, agency access and agency source. Any other online tools you are using? Thanks!
