For me my job is super demanding not only hourly but mentally and I don’t get enough sleep, can’t cook for myself, can’t exercise, etc. I know you get it. My kid (I have just 1) is amazing and she gives me so much but she also takes a lot of energy. I know you get it. Welcome to the bowl.

Fellow desi fishes, how do you all deal with loneliness? I don’t really have many friends where I live. Every weekend, I can’t help but feel alone and lonely

How did you make friends when you moved here?

Is it normal to feel depressed/lonely during wedding planning? I almost feel like I can’t talk about it since other people aren’t engaged and I feel like I’m rubbing it in their faces talking about it. So I have to keep everything to myself and it’s kind of stressful

Is it a bad look to put in your notice after coming back from a maternity leave? Would it burn bridges or not a big deal?

6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Trying to set family expectations and would love thoughts on 2 things. 1. How long after baby will I be ready for visitors beyond our parents? I’m thinking a few weeks. 2. Our 3 grandmothers are 1-3 hour flights away (3 diff places) and cannot travel. When will we be ready to take baby to see them? I’m thinking 4-6 months but that would also be flu/RSV season. Can’t predict the future but family is already talking about trips and I want to set expectations and do what is best for baby. TIA!!

I get so frustrated and annoyed when people make stupid common sense mistakes and I think it’s starting to affect my relationships. Don’t really know what to do.

I ended my relationship of 6 years about 3 months ago bc he said he might regret not having kids later down the line. we were always on the fence but I’m leaning towards no. It hurts so much having to walk away from an otherwise perfect relationship. Wish this was easier…

Hi single parents! How do you cope with being the NOT preferred parent? They say a mom and son bond is unbreakable but my son always chooses his dad 🥲 no matter how hard I try for our relationship, he always misses his dad even if they spent the whole week together. I love that their relationship is strong, but still hurts to know he’s fine without me but not his dad!
