Did a first interview with hr rep, went very well. she set up the hiring manager meeting for a few days later. Met with the manager. Another great conversation, went over time and was told I’d hear back about panel set up. Following day I get a request from hr rep to “continue the conversation” with manager. This is set up Tuesday.
Why do you think the manager wants to meet again? Good? Bad? I felt great about the interview when we ended.

I am finishing up a project and I’m trying to document what I’ve done for my resume. What are some good metrics for someone who mainly created user stories, created dashboards, interacted with the client and developed statistical models? One of my dashboards got deployed to production but it’s to early to see the impact. My other dashboards are almost done but I’m moving on to something else.

I interviewed with capgemini for SAP ABAP role and my YOE is 4 years. Just 2 hours after my interview, I got a call from someone at Capgemini saying that I am selected.
They just asked my notice period and current location.I asked them, what is the next round going to be and they said that it is going to be salary discussion. But till now, no one has reached out to me.
Does it mean they got another candidate for same job?
If they get back to me, how much should I ask?

I moved to the Netherlands 3 months ago on a spouse visa. Was working with EY-P earlier. I have been applying to jobs and giving interviews but for some reason things are not working out. Folks, I've recently moved to the U.S. and healthcare here is a maze, even if I have health coverage through the job. I've been wanting to see a therapist and it feels like it is quite expensive to see one. I'm on a HDP PPO plan and essentially I was told I pay $250 a session till I spend ~$7000, and then insurance copay kicks in. Seriously at a loss if I'm missing something or if folks spend the same on seeing a therapist. I'm curious as to how a lot of folks are able to afford the price tag.

How do you phase out screen time when you have to be connected all the time? I like the idea of digital minimalism after work hours, but I don't truly have any after work hours.

Holiday Season - at my former company, around this time of year I would have already gotten a ton of gift baskets etc. - not something I would ever take home but open up for the team and leave out. Started somewhere new last November, have dealt with multiple firms in various regions of the last year, many of which have billed several $100ks, have yet to receive anything. Has anyone made the transition from non-profit and small firm practice to federal government, big law, in-house? I’m a special education parent attorney at a small firm and I’ve spent my legal career in the education and juvenile areas of the law working for 2 non-profits before ending up at the firm. However, I’m just exhausted, unmotivated, and and looking for a change. At this point (6.5 yrs of practice), is that type of transition even possible or am I stuck due to the practice area?

What’s the typical salary for a GC VC role? They indicated they would pay in line with big law plus equity upside. It would be their first GC outside hire. Curious what the equity percentage would be?

I’m a fifth year associate who is ready to get out of litigation (and private practice altogether). I’ve only ever done professional malpractice (legal, med mal, etc) and feel like those skills will not transfer as well if I had done transactional work. Ideally I would like to transition to something in-house. Any suggestions as to what jobs/industries I could transfer into with only litigation experience?

I work with great people. Really can’t say anything bad about my firm in general either. But…I still dislike the entire premise of law firm life, the billable hour, etc.. I’d love to work in a law school setting as a counselor or something but I can’t afford the pay cut. *sigh* Does anyone feel like being a lawyer is just doing homework all day? I’m interviewing for a GC role at a company that’s never had in-house counsel before. I’ve never been a GC - what questions should I be asking?

I’ve been practicing in both big law (many yrs ago) and now in-house for over 10 years. Quite often I struggle because I don’t find work fulfilling. I’ve been in industries that allegedly have greater cause (healthcare) but was eventually disappointed by the corporate bureaucracy and went to a cutting-edge tech company for intellectual stimulation. Still I struggle. Should I try public interest? Not that I don’t need the money but it’s hard to work when I am so detached and find it meaningless

I'm looking to leave the legal field. Its really toxic for my ADHD and I feel miserable everyday here. How can I pivot my career towards government/policy roles without having to take a huge step down in income?

One of my junior associates recently resigned and I've been trying to make an exit myself for several months now. The job market has been really competitive but I am getting closer to getting a new job and moving on. The firm culture isn't great and work-life balance is non existent. My physical and mental health have been suffering, so I really don't think I could stay. How did you avoid the guilt trips from Partners/Senior staff trying to get you to stay?
