Read Dr. Allan Church's books!
Firstly, don't stress. They know what you experience you have and don't have but your still there and it means they know and it's not a concern and you can grow into the role. Your other transferrable experience will kick in as you go and don't hesitate to ask questions where you need to.
Congratulations on your new role. Leverage your greatest concern “imposter syndrome”, as you biggest asset. As the new person, your job is learn and you should go in with a posture of trying to understand how you / your team can create something great for your company. The good thing is that no one can reasonably expect you to know much right now so you can leverage your active listening skills to ask the right questions, build trust, and, in time, eventually chart a path towards tangible solutions that create value. Don’t put undue pressure on yourself too soon to have all the answers and if anyone is doing that to you, gently push back and follow the above steps with them.
Nobody really walks into any new role knowing everything. I have started new things and absolutely was concerned with my ability to do it at all, sometimes it is overwhelming at first, but you keep going and soon enough that all melts away. Slowly and surely, focus on all the positives you bring!
Read and find some inspiration from someone else who got published and the reviews to help validate that they should have been published. Anytime I start a new massive strategy or program, I go to the books (and I have a friend who is like a card catalog of business books so I call her). Some suggestions for KPI:
1. Website: KPI Institute
2. Book: Key Performance Indicators for Dummies - yes I know this is cliche but it's a pretty good book for quick reference and the basics.
3. Book for KPI & OKRs (goals): Radical Focus by Christina Wodtke. The Team that Managed Itself, also by her is good.
Y’all hiring?
