I applied to PA Consulting and have been stuck in the “In Review” stage for 3 months now. I messaged the HR representative where I got a response of “we have had a lot of applications it’s taking longer than expected we hope to get back to you soon.” Which I thought of as an automated response but that was expected.

What is concerning me is they have reopened the portal on the careers page. Is it safe to assume I won’t be getting invited to the interview stage? Why not just inform me?

I interviewed for KPMG on 11/15 for a Senior role and the HR emailed me on 11/16 that everyone liked me but they think I should be hired as an Experienced Associate. I had a call with the HR on 11/17 wherein we discussed about my salary expectations and the HR said he will get back in a day. It’s been more than 10 days and multiple follow ups but still no response. I don’t think I was rude while talking to the HR, I just told my current salary and asked for min. that no. Did i miss the chance ?

Is it normal during a lateral interview process to be informed of an interview the day before?

Howdy Sales Fishes - I’ve got an interview coming up and the recruiter prepared me by sharing that the interviewer may be low energy intentionally. Does any have a best practice for tactfully responding to this behavior or should I just persevere?

Have my first final round interview! I've already interviewed with the lead of the group, this is another interview with her + the person directly under her.

Trying to level set expectations...are final round interviews more of a gut check to see if you're the right person for the position? Just trying to understand what % of final rounds are successful lol.

I had a call with a recruiter at BCG towards the end of last week. I went to check the job description for the role on the careers website and it’s not there anymore. Instead it says, “we’re sorry…the job you are trying to apply for has been filled.” Why would the recruiter reach out to me about applying for this role if they were going to fill it so soon? The role is still listed on LinkedIn but when I click apply it takes me to the BCG careers page with the note saying the role has been filled

Had an interview with Hexaware and 3 days back HR1 called me and said she will send the offer letter next week. 2 days back HR2 called me and said a client interview is scheduled for you and I attended that. Now if I fail to clear the client interview round, will I not receive the offer letter that is promised by the HR1?

Are there certain firms that are more accepting of Tax backgrounds entering advisory positions? I’m a CPA with a couple years regional tax experience looking to transition to advisory/deals, but have struggled getting big 4 advisory interviews even with solid recommendations.
I’ve heard there’s solid opportunities in advisory type work for some other large firms outside big 4. Has anybody made a similar transition?

BCG: What are the steps in the interview process for generalist consulting role for lateral hires. How many rounds, what in each round? If someone who went through the process recently can elaborate, that would be really helpful.
