I was interviewed at EY UK on 7th Sep. It was quite smooth. Since then I haven't heard anything back from them though interviewer claimed SLA to get back with outcome of interview is 48 hours. On portal it still says I'm in hiring team phase. It was level 1 interview.
Should I take this delay as rejection?
I had interviewed with Deloitte UK consulting in June/July and was called by the HR team by the end of July that the interviews were positive and they're sending for approval for an offer to be rolled out. I was called back later in September and told that the role is on hold due to a hiring freeze. Is anyone else in this situation and have you'll heard back from the HR team post that

For Glasgow it’s just about sufficient. You won’t be able to enjoy your life to the fullest. To put that in perspective, it’s equivalent to 25 LPA in India if Glasgow is the location. For London, it will be around 20 LPA.
Savings - it depends on your individual expenses such as the apartment size and area, monthly liabilities here in UK as well as back home in India, schooling for your child, etc.
One thing I can suggest you though - whatever savings you are left with after all your expenses, invest all in India, don’t invest a single penny here in UK. Investing in UK doesn’t make sense from any view point:
A. It won’t yield even 10% of the returns you’d make in India - for short term as well as for long term. The economic outlook of UK is worst on short as well as on long term.
B. you already pay 40% of your income as income tax plus NI insurance every month (totalling almost 50% of your income) to this country and in return get no service that’s worth the money you pay. Health service is seriously ill, inflation is high as hell, energy bills are on rise. It makes no sense investing more money here.
Instead, invest in India, make india prosperous as India is the country you’d want to move back to after a few years - for yourself and your children too.
