We are poor. Compared to anyone in the private sector.
I don't think your org is reflective of trends nationwide. I've been at several national conferences lately and overwhelmingly they're all, baffled why, they can't keep, good talent. Meanwhile organizers suggesting higher pay get significant push back.
I really think that is how you relate to it, I have interview for non profits and I’m always fascinated for the mission and the work they do, so is all about attitude. I do understand that there maybe a miss conception that non profit equals low salary that’s not entirely true in all cases.
You could always say that if our federal, state and local governments as well as everyone who can, did; they would never have to make that assumption.
