Marriott International Honestly speaking does anyone actually get hired at any Marriott NYC properties by applying themselves or do you need an internal reference ? Are theyactually hiring or resume hoarding ?
I’ve been applying to Marriott since 2018 as a hospitality management student and nothing, I’ve even been contacted by Marriott recruiters to apply for X position and rejected and ghosted by said recruiters.
I’ve recently applied for a dishwasher position, no high school diploma required and guess what? nope .

I'm interviewing with KKR for a Principal role in their real estate group. All online salary resources are all in alignment with a total comp of $200k+. I'm assuming based on the average salary reported across these portals for principal that those figures apply to the RE group as well. Anyone have any direct knowledge or can speak to that group's comp?

Is it just me or with the rise of attacks on "essential workers", it's scary nowadays to work a public-facing job? I've seen so many videos of workers getting attacked for doing their job, some of them have even lost their lives.

Who else here feels like the entire restaurant industry deserves an overhaul? We rely on tips because it's basically assumed that everyone will tip, but in reality there are people who tip very little or just don't at all. Some days I'll make around $200 and other days only $50 and it's really not stable at all.

What are some good books to read if I want to learn how to better show up for the team as a manager?
