What has PWC been teaching their staff? Thats failed experience if you ask me

How would you learn to prepare FS using an ERP like Netsuite as an auditor? Like I get the fundamentals and auditing management’s schedules etc. but I think you’d need to work in-house in industry.

Super common. Correct it doesn’t teach you those skills but it does teach you critical thinking and being detail oriented which is pretty significant when preparing financials. Also, 9 times out of 10, you CFPY and make slight updates for the CY

What’s going on FB friends,

I am contemplating a move to industry working at a VC, Tax Director role east coast. Looks like it will be primarily overseeing compliance with some aspect of advising on structures etc. There is another tax reporting head above me.

The potential comp is the low 200k with a 10% bonus (still higher than what I am making). I feel this is pretty low for VC standards but maybe my standards are also too high. I have generally seen 25% bonus with carry.

Any thoughts?
