How do I get out of public?

Before season, I applied for a mess of industry/controller type jobs. Nothing. But every tax recruiter with eyes was blowing up my phone/email with “but THIS CPA firm is different!” and not only was it not different, but they offered me less money or bait-and-switched on remote work. Or, for a laugh, they mixed both.

I can’t do another season after this one. Just can’t.

How do I get out of public?

Location?
Salary requirements?
Years of experience?
And... Do you have any letters after your name? MBA/CPA etc?

Ummm maybe focus on your accounting, excel and data experience on the resume, then go for financial analyst/senior accountant roles. Try keep your tax experience minimum on the resume.

As an experienced, SHRM certified HRBP , I would just like some feedback on your opinion of the differences in the roles between an HRBP an HR Manager besides the obvious that the manager should have direct reports. I am an HRBP and work in step with 3 HRM’s. They all 3 just got out of cycle raises of between 5-20% 😳 and I received nothing. I am quite aware of our HR code that salary is confidential but I was told about this. Would you be looking for other employment? Or stay?
