-Do paint and sip at home.
-Cook a new recipe so you can focus on the instructions.
-Go to the next town. Park your car, and go for a walk while focusing on the businesses you see.
**Book recommendations: audiobook,
-The mermaid of black conch (island romance)
- Jar of hearts(mystery/ thriller)
I have a ton of mystery thrillers I can recommend( let me know if you want some more)
- listen to a new genre of music that is relaxing. Artis recommendations: blessing offor, Jacob banks, yebba, melody gardot, victor ray.
- Listen to a funny podcast: here is one that will have you in stiches: grown up read things they wrote as kids.

I live by the ocean so I unplug from electronics at minimum 48 hours no email, social media. Take beach walks and practice mindfulness, do something fun… whatever that is for you… the unplugging is the first step… what brings you joy? Whatever that is DO THAT
I have lots of self care activities I do such as long walks and going to the beach. It helps me to get my mind off work and focus on the present moment.
As the years go on I’ve gotten better with this. At this point I get so annoyed if I “take work home with me” in my mind that I will do anything to ensure that it doesn’t happen. Once in awhile it’s unavoidable- a death, staff conflict etc.
I remind myself that I will not be good at my job unless I can take time to truly recharge. Focusing on work nonstop will lead straight to burnout. So if you focus on the fact that leaving work at work will actually make you better at your job it may help!
