I tend to take conservative approaches to ethical quandaries. I immediately extricate myself from such matters or inform the proper individuals.

I pull up one of the several instances I encountered that caused me to call the state Bar Ethics advice line and talk about what the issue was and what they advised me to do.

When you practice law in a small town and do multiple kinds of law, it's much easier for conflicts or possible conflicts to arise.

I practice law ethically so I’m unfamiliar with that journey. However, I have faced conflict with providing interest based representation where I advocated in accordance with my client’s needs even if it meant abandoning the judicial process and focusing on client wellbeing.

Question to Interviewers:

Do you get informed if the person you interviewed joined the company or not?

How would you feel if many of the candidates you interviewed with positive feedback didn’t join the company?

Do companies measure time wasted interviewing candidates who didn’t join?

Just curious to know.

Hi Guys,

I have completed my tech interview rounds with UBS and have received email for fitment round.

Can anyone share what happens in this fitment round on interview?
HRs have asked to submit documents even before this fitment round; which seems unusual. Is this normal for UBS and this is how they progress?

Thank you.

Advice: my firm incentivized associates to get licensed in fed courts - 4 fed courts for a 5k raise. They also covered the admission fee. I just accepted an offer with another firm and will be putting in my 2 weeks notice tomorrow. Is it wrong to submit an expense report for the charges I incurred related to the fed court admission fees? I didn’t plan on moving to another firm; the new firm sought me out and made me an offer - the process happened so fast. I want to be professional about this.

Currently at a super conservative defense firm. I do really well but keep getting the criticism that I tend to just do things on my own initiative. I’m just predisposed to being decisive and rather autonomous. Besides being a solo atty, where would this skillset be better suited? Plaintiffs work?

I’ve been working at a rather prestigious midsized firm in a big city for almost a year and a half now. I have been having a lot of trouble picking up work from senior partners. We are required to bill at least 150 hours per month to meet our requirement. My months are typically only 110-130 hours. It seems like the senior partners already have their “go to” associate for things. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can increase my workload? I reach out for work pretty much weekly.
