I use it on my certification courses. My job requires bi yearly certifications and they can get really expensive, but it's kind of mandatory. I definitely don't want to go back to school, so I'm glad I have the money to put towards those classes and Certs.

You can’t use it on rent?

Lol,looking for ideas on how people are leveraging it for courses and not the typical MBA

Check with your employer on how their Tuition Assistance program is designed. You usually can use it for other degrees than an MBA. Some will even allow you to use it for earning a certification.

But in the end, it has to tie back to educational needs. The government frowns on abuse of this type of benefit, so most employers play it safe and have checks/balances in place to protect the program.

If you're not keen on the idea of a formal degree program, there are loads of online platforms offering courses on everything from graphic design to digital marketing to mindfulness. The shorter more focused courses can still provide a ton of value without the multi year commitment of an MBA.

Working on getting CISSP right now; would love to hear any recommendations for study materials if anyone would be willing to share.

I've read the book, have the official prep questions, and about 7 YOE in cybersec but honestly had CCNA and Sec+ in the past and found passing to be more relative to how I'd studied to the test than doing the actual job...

Anyway, open and appreciative of any insight.

Note: Yes I'm in in marketing - career pivot.

Do you all feel that the Health Insurance choice is actually all the same? The coverage is absolutely copy and paste for Bronze to Platinum and the deductible/copay is very similar.
I just don’t understand why we have the illusion of “choice” if the offer is the same and it is really bad (in our case).
Going from $61 per paycheck for 2.5k deductible 75% copay to $500+ per paycheck with 500 deductible 85% copay.
