Travel is project dependent but mostly every week. Exits are non existent with no career services.
MDs are like any other firm. Some will chew you out and provide no sponsorship, some will still chew you out but will bang the table for you. As with most things in life, YMMV.
Sure, feel free to.
I second that our PI group is very heavily traveled, 75%+ on average.
As far as exits, we do have them and most involuntary exists are purely performance-based (you’ll know if you’re not cutting it), and no exit support exists for that. Regarding voluntary exits, they’re not as common since it’s hard to beat our pay. But, if the work part of the work-life-balance becomes unbearable, most will find a comfortable enough place to land. We don’t place people often but our former client and alumni network is decent enough if you milk it for good options.
Mind if I DM?
