I've been maxing out my 401(k) since my late 30s. Once in turned 50, I started catch-up contributions which you van do on Jan 1stb of the year you turn 50 (no need to wait for your birthday). So $30.5k this year, a few percent of that into a Roth 401(k), plus 10% of my net into ESPP. Company stock also pays a decent dividend so I haven't sold and equity in about 7 years.

That's awesome. Great job!

I was able save $23k in my 401k after a year of unplanned job changes and expenses.
My company stopped matching contributions early this year and my significant other was laid off. I’ve been able to contribute 17k in 401k and 7k in Roth this year despite these situations. Also feels like a small win
I’ve contributed $25k to retirement accounts in 2024 ($23k towards 401k and $2k to a Roth IRA). I’ve also contributed $12k to my brokerage account plus $3k to a 529.

I wish I made enough to max it out but I'm putting in 12% right now which only comes out to about $12k or so
I believe I get a match of 5% to my 6%. I also max out my Roth after those contributions and I know my investments in those accounts have done well. Not sure what my actual contribution figures look like but I feel comfortable especially since I have many other investments working towards the future for me.
Congrats! Stock market did great as well.
