How much ya bench?

If i quit while on bench. Will they release early? I want to complete 3 months of notice period.

Hey guys , I’m new at Deloitte and consulting in general . I realized the staffing process is very very subjective based on your tenure at the firm, who likes you or doesn’t like you etc. I’m having a hard time getting staffed, and even though I hear how great I was I keep hearing how they picked someone else with more “Deloitte experience “. Did anyone experience this when they started consulting ? Getting really frustrating, and I’ve been on bench a month now.

Question: I joined EY around a month back. On bench still and nobody apart from HR has contacted me. I have found another offer in the meanwhile. They are prepared to give me a 50% hike on EY's package. Should I take it or wait? My friends say, frequent job hopping will affect my resume. Tbh, I spent 6years at my last organization and EY is my first switch. I'm unhappy so far and don't think its a right fit for me. Any advice? Should I wait or go? Or negotiate with HR in EY against this offer?

Anyone here have any ideas on how to handle sexism on the bench? I’m at my wits end in a case where my opposing counsel (white male and also a total jerk) is buddy-buddy with our presiding judge (also white male). In every single hearing, opposing counsel interrupts me every time I address the court, and the judge not only allows it, he never allows me to get back to my point. He also likes to hold all of these hearings as off record status conferences. Any strategies to fight this?

Guys, i joined Mindtree in December 2021, and was allocated to a project...but the work they are making me do in is not as per my skill so i wanna get released. So, if i ask for project release from my manager, will i be moved to bench or i will have to leave the company??

Such low utilization at the firm I'm just over one calendar year now since start date. Is the bench at Deloitte for IM pretty big or am I the only one? About to get fired..

Manager keeps traveling in late on Mondays and we have important meetings that he's missing. I was just here to teach them a methodology for this type of project then roll off to something else.....

NOT BUSY! I have the opposite sentiment/effect of you all, I haven’t been busy for years! I have sat on the bench so much it’s not even funny. I have never been big on business development, sales, or account growth. I am an implementation and delivery person. Give me work and I will do it. It’s really strange how much I have coasted involuntarily. I actually have a lot of education and relevant work experience, just underutilized for years…

My project ends at the end of May and I'm planning on going on maternity leave in mid August. As a result, I may have to sit on the bench for 2.5 months given that it's been difficult finding another short term opportunity with those exact dates. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to navigate this? I asked my manager but he said he's never had that scenario before and wasn't able to provide much help.
