When a batchmate got fired one of the partners said he wasn’t worth the expense (“waste of money”) but idk if that’s what you’re looking for

funny

What did u do now 😒

Just read the expense policy and follow it. Don't even test the limits because if you're on a project that's running hot on expenses, you may just get audited.

How bad is it if you get audited?

Did Deloitte have a late-night Uber policy before the pandemic? Joining in a month and also moving and wondering how much I should consider it. For context, my current company had a policy pre-pandemic where we could Uber home every time we worked after 7PM and we could expense meals as well during those days.

How's Edelman NY? Getting hit up for Health which I've never done. It'll entail moving from advertising to PR/earned creative as they call it, and the Health category. Didn't sound like hard sell pharma, quite a bit of branded video content. I searched on FB, sounded mostly negative culturally (employee fired during Pride month, political, creatives better watch their backs, climate denier) with a few who love it. Figured I'll ask if anything's changed, if it's even worth ... considering.

I have a good offer outstanding from a tech firm (350K TC) and just got connected to a recruiter from one of the alternative investment firms (PE/Hedge/VC 35bn AUM) in NYC and it seems they want to go through the process with me. The base range given is 350K (excluding bonus and others). TC wise.. I'd like to try and see how far I can go but the tech firm is something that I really like. *Advice* I recently accepted position at a 50K pay cut (covid). I shared my target salary /lateral move & at the negotiation point, they came up slightly by way of qtrly bonus structure but also outlined path for growth incl. expected salary increases at said points. Said it could be achieved in under a year. By day 4 of the new job they had accelerated to the final point in that plan without making good on title / salary. Spoke up immediately... “in discussion” 2 weeks in. Bait/switch WWUD??
