How to get into Fdd with 2 years audit experience and 1 yr industry accounting?

Hi Folks, I'm currently in search of a mentor. I'm a 28y/o MSc grad and starting a Junior Funding Consultant role (writing grant applications for startups) as I'm tired of holding out for an entry level role in ESG/Sustainability - I keep getting rejections despite completing a very wide ranging internship at a renewable energy company. Last year I received an offer at Deloitte Belgium but due to Brexit & VISA delays, we couldn't continue. Now I'm unsure of my career progression & need guidance.

Which is better for growth within industry? FP&A or controller route?

I’ve done PI work my entire career for over 10 years. I’ve worked in state and federal courts and I’ve traveled around the country doing MDL work and bellwether trials. I’ve had a lot of success making the idiots I’ve worked for wealthy, but I’m still waiting for a moment where I enjoy what I’m doing. I feel stuck working in dysfunctional plaintiff firms/cultures. I hate this profession/career more and more each year. Has anybody been successful breaking off on their own in recent years? Advice?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I want to switch roles from a creative director who oversees all aspects of the company’s creative (marketing campaigns and brand building mostly; also production, performance marketing ads, product design, managing design team) to focusing 100% on building our brand, educating both customers and employees about our value prop. I hate managing people or logistics and scheduling. What would this role be called? Do you see it as demotion from CD?

Is Operations paid the least at your respective firms? I was hired to a Client Service Delivery role with a heavy focus on project management. I regularly interface with leadership internally and at the client. But, I am aligned to the “Operations” capability and make the least of my teammates who perform seemingly identical work but are aligned to “Strategy and Consulting.” I worry I’m on a career path to being paid the least wherever I go, because Operations is in my title and background.

IAAP is an awarding body in UK.

My doubt is, does the value of the certificate of IFRS change depending on the Institution?

Will a person who cleared IFRS from IAAP have same value as a person who cleared IFRS from ACCA?

Again posting since my last post did not got attention. Wanted to ask whether it's good to switch to big 4 India advisory role from a mid tier organization dealing in tech and ops. Additionally, they offered just very low percentage on current CTC saying that I am coming to a big brand.
Plus my current financial situation is stressful and I accepted the offer on certain conditions but now hr or the firm but saying we can't committ you. Any suggestions.

Is CMA worth getting after getting the CPA? Or is it better to get the CFA. Also don’t have much finance background so I don’t know if I can pass the CFA will require a lot of hard work. Interesting in hearing people’s thoughts.

I have no plans in leaving PA anytime soon but I figure maybe I should look into another certification that holds value and makes me more marketable compared to my peers. Appreciate any thoughts and advice.

Started at a big firm in July with high hopes- in the career path I wanted and I would be joining with other new grads.
After onboarding, it’s as if my team forgets about us every day. The training is non existent, there doesn’t seem to be any initiative to invest in new hires, my manager scolds me for not knowing enough yet gives no direction. I don’t want to waste time (colleagues mentioned it doesn’t get much better from here). Do I embrace the suck or look for other opportunities?

I’ve seen a lot of recruiters recently trying to hire for advisory consulting firms that claim they do the work that Big 4 can’t because of independence issues. Does anyone think these types of firms are sustainable or will big 4 find a way around the independence restrictions and take this work back?

What’s the sense of becoming a partner at a larger firm where you can’t even really make business decisions since there are so many partners higher than you? We had evaluations and normally we have annual raises. I think my salary is under market value at $68k (plus OT) in Los Angeles (5 years of experience). I was told I am one of the top employees in the firm. When I asked about a raise, I was told “when you think about it at your level 5k to 10k doesn’t really matter it’s the long term goal that matters”. What would be your response to that, to a partner who is making 500-600k a year?
