I’m so happy this bowl exists 🥹🫶🏼
This yes 100% 🙌
Ageism laid bare. This is the sad reality of the business. Agency leaders who linger into their 60s, who have completely dismissed the value of their contemporaries to keep themselves afloat. Shame on you Mark Read.

I’ve heard terrible things about this group. I had a peer move into the group and he left within 2 mos, and he said 3 of their new hires had left within 6 mos. I think it’s a very cliquey group from a culture perspective, and they protect their jobs by being reluctant to teach others. Just what I’ve heard, so be warned.
I think that depends on offices.
Not sure why everyone is spreading misinformation. Group culture, like any group, differs by office. Generally speaking, in my office, the ITS QS group is not terribly close knit but most are nice, genuine people. We don't have one type of work. There's foreign compliance (ie. 5471, 8858, etc.), and there's tax reform work using various data tools, mainly alteryx and an internally developed tool. You could get away with not being an international tax expert as a senior if you're really good with the technology, but you will be expected to pick up on it. Since, we don't follow a traditional busy season, you could be busy at any point in the year (or all of the year). The work is more interesting in my opinion, but it can be a bit much at times (like any group). The group is growing very quickly, almost 4x in the last year.
Do you mind sharing with me which office are you in?
PwC 3’s intel is far more accurate than Senior Associate 1’s. QST teams are in most/all of the large markets. Growing fast. Work closely with ITS, TP, M&A. Someone with either technology or technical can do well, but combo of both has best path forward.
I am really good at Alteryx. But I am in federal tax. I had some small international tax projects before with international tax group. Is that enough? Do they value more technical experience or international tax experience? And of course we had a lot of training about the tax reform items which are mostly related to international tax in our federal tax group. Not sure if that's enough. Is there anything I can do now to make my resume look better?
Not sure about intl QS specifically but work pretty closely with the folks in SALT QS and I’d say at the staff level they definitely value the tech skills more than tax technical knowledge so you’d be fine without having a ton of international exp. not sure on the group culture. Imagine it would really vary by office.
Oh my gosh, this sounds terrible. Thanks for sharing that with me. Would you mind telling me which office is your friend in?
He sits in a small office in central, and the team is spread across the country, largely working remotely from what I understand. I think ITS QS is like a group of < 15 ppl? I don’t know that more than a few of them sit in the same office, and I think that might be a west coast office
If you’re really interested I might be able to put you in touch with someone in the group in LA office. Not sure your location, but dm me if you like.
It seems that I can't dm people yet.
So is this group going to lay off people? Why do they need to protect their jobs? I heard that in general PWC encourage internal competitions comparing to other three. Is it like this in other group in PWC?
There’s a waitlist to get into that group which isn’t easy to get on. They must be doing something right.
I think it stands for “ international quantitative solution group”? I saw those posts from time to time too. Do you know what kind work they do? ( international tax compliance, provision, consulting/global structuring etc.?)
OP, I sent you a message. Not sure if you can receive since you said you weren’t able to initiate one?
Thanks for sending me that message! I really appreciate it
If you’re more of a technology guy, go for it... if you want to be a true tax advisor, don’t
