Not relevant but please don’t use “San Fran” like ever again 😒
SAN FRAN SAN FRAN SAN FRAN
Moved from NYC (Manhattan) to SF recently and we ended up picking Hayes Valley. I really love it so far because it allows us to keep a bit of NYC life here. Hayes is walkable, full of bars/restaurants/shopping, and not as foggy as other parts. Our apartment is also in a modern building with amenities.
I do think that after our first year is up we will probably move closer to Cow Hollow or Pacific Heights because we find ourselves spending a lot of time in Presidio or Golden Gate Park.
In addition to Hayes valley I would say the larger lower haigh and duboce triangle areas are also great for the same reasons. Central in the city and overall pretty nice
Rising Star
I love Russian Hill although it doesn't have high rises like other parts of the city 🏙 Lots of cafes, restaurants, wine bars + walking distance to the beach and views of SF classics like Lombard St, Coit Tower & Golden Gate
Love Mission Bay and think it makes it pretty easy to get to Menlo Park. Also, it’s like the least foggy part of the city if that matters to you
Agree- it is a bit sterile. I liked it bc it felt safer and cleaner than other parts of the city and also I really wanted a high rise and to be near the water. So, depends what you like
Check out Burlingame/San Mateo too
I love Haight Ashbury so much because it’s so close to Golden Gate Park, has quick access to Castro and Cole Valley, and is pretty central. Ended up living in an apartment on a steep hill, so needed to buy a car to get around. My apartment has a view of the Bay and the redwood trees 🌲
I made the move from BK to Mission - depending on your vibe I would suggest Duboce/Hayes, Mission. Pac Heights is kinda meh in my opinion especially coming from Brooklyn
Totally understand the commitment to city living but SF to Menlo Park can be a miserable commute.
I’m sure Facebook gives a shuttle to its employees
