I’m in the same boat. I like the agency a lot but the account team is incompetent and cannot follow process. I’ve reminded them in person, email and at this point I’m looking to transfer to another team or leave entirely.
Unfortunately those kinds of hours are normalized under “normal” circumstances, let alone now when agencies are running on the leaner side. If you leave there’s a high chance will be more of the same, and you’ll have a bigger target on your back should additional layoffs happen across the industry (given that you’ll be last in/new). If you’ve been at your place a while, have equity there, I’d try and ride out a bit longer (until the new year at least)
I hear what you’re saying. The burn out rate is high now as a skeleton crew is being forced to manage more work with less resources. I’m taking all my PTO this quarter - the stress of managing what should be two people’s jobs alone is infuriating.
Reminding people of the same things (esp technical matters) is prob one of the few things common to every job...
Make documentation, assign turn around times, loop in your boss, make the account/media team agree to them. When they mess up beat em over the head with why they arent aligning to the documents and ask their boss is they can support them. With the turn around times it will give you breathing room. With the documentation it will allow your boss to more easily fight for you. I know its hard, ive been there but keep in mind analytics is usually 1000% more technical and knowledgeable about data in all aspects. Most of these teams just talk and traffic. Be patient at first then implement the above. Also, try making an FAQ document.
