Any Aon pension actuaries who could help my friend understand the hierarchy of titles? Let’s say my friend has 10 years of experience, FSA and EA credentials, was a consistently high performer over his career, what would his expected title be at Aon within the core retirement actuarial business? Thanks in advance.

Is there option for long term disability leave (so still employed and eligible for retirement pension but not actively working)? Or short term once a year type thing? I’m sorry to hear about your condition and situation.
This. Long term disability is what has kept me going.
I’ve seen people retiring early and moving to a place like Vietnam. Check out people moving to Da Nang.
Not sure that you would want to move that far…but explore your options.
Could you find a position within your school district as a support center teacher? The teacher at my son’s high school primarily babysits students who need extra time to take tests in a room next to the office, helps them write essays, coordinates 504 and IEP meetings with students, parents and counselors. It’s a much “lighter” work load and ideal for someone in your situation.
I have chronic health conditions as well, so I obtained a position adjacent to my prior role (15 years) as a project manager where I support several PMs.
It’s terrible that you are going through this. I’m with Finance Manager. Can you find a beautiful place to live for cheap and go enjoy the rest of your life?
I'm really sorry to hear not only about your medical illness, but also your current career illness. It doesn't have to be this way for you. with years of experience as a teacher, you have other opportunities for work that might energize you, fulfill you, and lead you to new paths you never imagined previously. It does sound like you might benefit from a Career Counsellor/Coach. These are formally trained counsellors, with an understanding of identity, skills sets, personal strengths, challenges, ...etc. This is different than the kind of employment counsellor one might find when receiving EI financial assistance. Given your job, your insurance likely covers Counselling of any kind. (This is based on a teacher working in Canada).
