Hello, can someone with amazon provide guidance on how to properly follow up after submitting my application for a non-tech role. I submitted 5 apps so far and will appreciate any guidance or referrals if possible. Positions are related to fraud, investigations, anti-money laundering. Also, if you are a recruiter for related positions, please get in touch with me. JPMorgan Chase Amazon Stripe Chime Google Microsoft Discord Netflix Facebook (Meta)

Have waited up to 2 months for in house
4 months for me
This week or next. Sometimes client side moves slower but someone submitted me last week and I heard back yesterday. Through internal referral as well. Good luck!
It was MDW, give it some time. A week is not long in-house when the recruiter is likely working on a ton of roles. Many companies will do atleast one interview with referrals
Client side moves too slowly and there’s too many rounds / tasks. This is the issue, you have to be in a stable role day to day to maintain the patience and positivity
The stronger the brand for in house roles the slower it takes in my experience.
Worked on both sides - one in-house gig (via referral) did move at a glacial pace. Recruiters weren’t very marketing savvy - so felt they took longer than usual. But nothing wrong with weekly follow-up. Even better if the referral will help.
While you would think that an internal referral would get human decency in the hiring process that's not always the case. You may never hear back from them. I'd keep feelers out with other places in the meantime.
A week is nothing, especially given the Holiday weekend.
