I feel that the amount of available QB work has been declining over the past 2 years. It’s nothing compared to during COVID or prior to that ie shortly after the acquisition. Want to hear thoughts from other QBers so I have a broader perspective.

Do you find working remotely during this time that you’re having a harder time staying on top of everything that’s going on? I’m a business/commercial lawyer with 8 years experience looking to relocate to Chicago from NYC area, while also trying to make the jump to in-house after only ever working at a boutique firm. It’s been 5 months and I haven’t had any luck applying to job postings on the usual sites (no calls, no interviews, nothing). Is it common to negotiate software engineer salary at smaller companies? I know it’s common at FAANG, but what about for companies with around 200 engineers? I have a counter offer from my current company and on-site interviews scheduled for end of July with google and Amazon, but I’d prefer to go with the smaller local company if I can negotiate the salary (from offer letter) up another 5% or so.
