How are you all managing COVID anxiety for the little ones?

My wife and I are fully vaxxed now and we know kids seem to not be impacted much by it, but it still feels irresponsible to go back to “normal” if it means putting them at risk.

Really worried about my health...want to get examined ASAP but earliest appointment is in two weeks...I don’t know if I can keep all the pressure to myself any longer...

Is it just me or does anyone else know or have an inclination that their employer committed fraud after receiving PPP loans during COVID pandemic?

Elon rumored to leave the Bay Area and move to Nevada/Texas. Covid has likely decimated the NYC economy for the short term, with many companies and employees questioning if they’ll ever go back. I work with a classroom of Middle School ED students. One student, who I worked with the year before, has changed alot over the year. Last year (pre COVID), she had a good head on her shoulders and I thought I had good rapor with her. But over that period of isolation, she tried to commit suicide.

All year, she was much more withdrawn and ALWAYS on her phone! At the end of the I was 'beat up by her - she really knocked my glasses off.

How should I approach her in the upcoming year?

For those of you doing only remote teaching, do you worry about your students getting enough food? When covid first started, it was easier to distribute lunches bc parents weren't working. What about now?

Don’t think if my self as depressed, but definitely struggling to give a sh!t recently. Covid, WFH and the craziness of the political drama is definitely a factor, but can’t help but think age and career point is more so - struggling to get excited after 30+ years of the grind.

Instead, he wants to talk to me until 11:30 pm or 12 am at night. I want to be there for him but I can’t. I’m tired. I’m still working VERY full time, and I was just diagnosed with early onset preeclampsia 😫

Hi! I was wondering if anyone here has any tips for dealing with burn out? I have been noticing a real lack of focus and exhaustion lately that I can’t shake. It is starting to bleed into my personal life too. I’m a single mom to a 5yo boy so I’m always tired 🤦‍♀️. I love my company and role, but I keep getting more little projects. It makes me proud that they feel like I am doing a good job, but I am worried about how much I have been slipping recently.

I want to scream it to the world but I can’t just yet! Found out on Saturday that I am pregnant, and I feel like I’m on cloud 9. Only 4 weeks, 2 days ❤️, luckily I can share here 🙂! I’ll take all the advice I can get.

Anyone have any experience with high deductible insurance plans with a newborn? Trying to decided if I should add my newborn onto my HDHP (I've met my $2700 deductible through delivery but my baby will have his own $2700 deductible to meet). Alternatively I could add him to my spouses regular insurance with a lower deductible/higher premium.

Am I tripping? Everyone loves calling my daughter (2 months) "lil chocolate drop" or "look at all that chocolate". I love my daughter's complexion, not only because it's mine, but because it's beautiful. However, I can't help but feeling like ppl "other" or make it weird by avoiding saying dark. Any of the sisters deal with gestational diabetes but already had a restrictive diet pre and during pregnancy?
Doctor says I have it, but I honestly don’t believe them. I don’t eat cane sugar (not even in sauces), gluten, dairy, or soy. So not surprised I couldn’t process their drink-I don’t consume stuff like that regularly. I walk a mile or do HIIT training 5x/ week. The condition doesn’t run in my family (and my mom has 4 sisters w/kids-good sample size) (cont’d in comments)
