I have an interview/loop coming at Amazon. After my phone screen, I’ve been given hints by the recruiter that there is a chance I will be down-levelled. I have my heart completely set on this role and really want it but also don’t want to be down-levelled. Any advice on how to turn this around during the loop? Or am I already doomed with no way to turn this around?

I think if you can "raise the bar" during the loop interviews, you may not be down leveled. The loop has more sessions that focus on behavioural and the LPs with only one session focused on the technical technical assignment.
May be others with more experience can weigh in.

That is actually very helpful SA1! Can I dm you for some advice on the interview prep please?

Do your interview prep work and give responses appropriate for the role you want.

Leveling is really interesting at Amazon. It’s hard to judge what level you should be at from the outside looking in. I’d just say that if the compensation is what you’re looking for, accept the role, come in and prove yourself for a year or two and you should then be up for promotion to level up. Most people feel like they should’ve come in at a higher level once they get in and understand the leveling better but the deciding factor TO get in is usually compensation, not leveling.

Yes you can DM me.

Down leveling isn’t a big deal. Amazon tends to have very watered down job titles anyway. Sr. Manager at Amazon is a Director/VP for a large corporation outside of Amazon. Get your foot in the door even if they downlevel you, bust your ass and get promoted in a year.

I got it!! Just heard back from I got the role without getting down levelled! I’m so pleased, thank you for all the advice guys! ❤️

Hi! I’ve been approached by Securonix for a Sales Director role in NA. I know the field and their competitors. The pay is good but I’ve seen a handful of websites with employee rating that is really bad. Each site has roughly 10 reviews but most are negative. Mostly referring to toxic culture and zero work life balance. How true is this in this sales org and the company in general? This is a backfill role after a 3 year tenure for the person who left.

Hiring managers: How is the interview process like at your company and how much say do you have when it comes to choosing that candidate?

I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.

I’m wondering how much influence the first manager has since I’m not sure what he’s writing

Hey fam,
Any advice on what and how to prepare for the final loop interview for a PM position for
Amazon.

I have prepared 2-3 stories for each of the LPs. I am not sure how many rounds of interviews to expect and the type of questions.

I know the BR is going to be behavioral, but the others will they be Behavioral or product based or a mix of both? If some one has gone through the experience, can you please share what it was like. TIA! 🙏
