Bain & Company I have R1 interviews coming up at Boston Consulting Group and Bain & Company in the US for Principal/AP level. Coming in with 5 years at a T1 firm (left as PL) + 4 years in industry, all after bschool.

What’s most important to prep?

My recruiter told me that for my case, I will need to do team match before moving to HC; So I just did a follow up interview after on-site, assuming no team wants to match me, even though I got strong feedback review, I am not moving to HC?

I had a phone interview early last week that went extremely well. Recruiter said I was their top candidate and asked me to keep them in the loop with my job search and/or if anything changes. They told me I would hear back Thursday.

On Friday, I emailed them asking for an update but didn't receive a response. I believe they had Monday off as a holiday. Should I follow up again? I 100% understand that recruiters and hiring managers are busy. Just really excited about the opportunity.

How do i strategically plan my exit? Have tons of technical skills and experience? Have been applying like crazy, but have not heard back from any companies yet.

Lately, a lot of recruiters have been reaching out. I'm mostly happy in my role and w/my company (no longer w/Edelman), but one job caught my eye with a huge salary and title bump at a comparable company, culture and work wise. Interviews are going well - I'm torn about leaving - things are good now but some extra $$ for what seems like a similar experience seems like a no-brainer. Yet, I feel sad about potentially leaving my current company. Anyone have a similar experience? What happened?

EY 1- talks a lot but nobody is listening.
DB 1 - Barclays 1’s little brother
JPM 1 - goldman 1 less attractive friend
Managing Director - is probably an associate at best
McKinsey 1 - wears tight colored maroon pants
Pwc 1 - made it to UBC video interview and got extremely nervous

My Shareholder came into my office yesterday and proceeded to tell me that "we" were getting sloppy & "we" needed to get our billable up and that she had missed things. She made a point to say hers were low & she never gave me info regarding billable time. Our biggest client cuts half our time.
During the interview they never mentioned there were billable req.
1 month ago she was singing my praises. Had been real sick last 2 months and went to HR re med accommodation and now this.

Does anyone know what kind of resources the MBB firms provide for entry level consulting staff to pursue business school? Like in terms of applying etc? Obviously anyone from McK would be the most helpful!

How do referrals work at different banks? Is it like consulting, where somebody on the inside can send your details directly to the recruiting team and in many cases get you to the first round interview?

Is it really that difficult to get hired for a federal job? I was interviewed for a GS12 job but never heard back, they still didn’t hire anyone and I didn’t get a rejection. I applied for another GS07 job, was accepted, I took it, but I believe I can do better. I have a master’s and have extra graduate research experience. I am still applying to new jobs but I was told it is impossible to move up the grade level now. Everyone is telling me to stick with the government. What are your thoughts?

I’ve been on the job hunt for 8 months. Over 200 applications and less than 10 interviews. I’m trying to find a role in media/entertainment. I have VFX PA experience on a Sony Pictures Film. This individual has a doctorate in business with a focus in HR, her SPHR, Federal, and private sector experience at the singer level, and has a fabulous personality.
