Hi Fishes, I have received an offer from Barclays for AVP position. But the role discussed during interview was for Tech Delivery Manager whereas the offer letter mentions it as Tech Delivery Lead. Can you guys please suggest if it is the same role or should I request recruiter to get the role updated? Moreover it would be great if any of you can shed some light on the prospects/challenges of this role based on your experiences. Barclays Barclays global service center

It's partly the industry, but honestly I think I got very lucky on my project (6 months in) . Everyone has been amazing and supportive. Either that or my old company was extremely toxic. 🤣
So the truth comes out hehe

Deloitte’s commercial teams are ruthless, with rough hours. And they back it up by having low pay and promoting very few partners. Any other firm is better

Also, sm1- awesome that you have a formal mid year process now! That wasn’t the case when I was there. Seems like the firm has only improved, based on your comment
You’re not wrong OP. I left after years of trashy WLB and empty promises from the usual suspects Dan/ Rizzo, didn’t get a raise for 3 years while seeing my entire starting class leave for better opportunities, the calls during covid where they basically said “we laid off most of your colleagues, be grateful you have a job” were the final straw
Sounds like how it works. And ya, I regret not jumping when I had the chance.... Live and learn... I guess.... Lol I probably joined after you left? But not too enticed to hang around
OP - This application is mostly used for complaints so take anything you hear on an anonymous app with a grain of salt. If you get to a place where this app is starting to influence your career decisions (which sounds like it) or negatively impact you, stop using it. Go by your own experience.
I left industry a decade ago for this firm and never regretted it. Majority of our employees have a long tenure, it means retention is strong. But to each their own.
It is really bad, but it’s more of a “consulting attracts X type of people who are bad running a company and love to lie” issue.

I have heard pwc and ey are more chill, but pay lower.
I never worked at Deloitte but worked at KPMG and now EY, I’ve never been part of a toxic engagement team. Everyone has been nice and encouraging and it’s been 6 years for me between the 2 firms.
I've been at PwC and EY, and I saw more pushiness at PwC. Not that EY doesn't occasionally have a bad team or project, but I have found the EY leadership to be a bit better.
I don't hear a lot of people complaining about the culture at Deloitte (and I started as an analyst). GPS though.
Worse at EY, people tell me much better at KPMG
