Get an MBA - you're going to need it anyway to do strategy work. It's time Daniel-son
Time to channel my boredom and frustration into getting a kickass GMAT score then.
I wouldn't want to move to any of my clients since I wouldn't want to deal with "managing their SAP systems". I feel like if I apply to any of the big 4, I wouldn't be considering for anything other than their technology arm, since that's what I have experience in. Is my only option an MBA?
And I'd probably rage quit if I have to do another implementation and deal with more offshore than onshore folks. I've been here 3 years and at the consultant level. All throughout, I've tried to get on projects that really interest me but get shot down due to the political red tape of not being in MC or Strategy.
I agree with the MBA statement. Luckily I got out of the shithole that is SAP.
I have the same question but have zero interest in an MBA. I hate the business side of what I do and enjoy more technical work (engineering background) but have only worked in PMO. Thinking of getting a masters in engineering but wonder if that's a futile attempt to change career paths.
A1, I'm not really that interested in an MBA either (chemical engr background), but I'd rather deal with that than with SAP again.
@Accenture1. I only had PMO type experience too and I'm functional but interested in technical work. Best way to make the segue is roadmap efforts, requirements elicitation and development, documentation. Basically traditional BA work. Unlike OP my goal is to get into Implementation work. Tired of being a jack of all trades master of none.
