She wants to inform them about her pregnancy; is it right time to inform? Or she needs to wait for 6 more months for that to inform? Anyone please clearify.. Do not get a dog (or any pet) you can't care for
You could just sit for other people's dogs when you're home. You make money and never have to find a sitter.
^ do hoe.
Leaving a do hoe alone all day at a 9/5 is cruel, doing it again with travel and lingers hours is double cruel. Either pay for a sitter serious amounts of time each week or accept that without a family you can't get a dog in this job
I recently had to give my dog to my sister (I am now officially the favorite uncle) because I felt to guilty leaving him home all day. My nieces will give him much more love and attention that I can right now. It's just not fair to the dog
No.
P1 that's the fear...
K1 no offense to anyone here but not found of cats
Volunteer at a animal rescue instead. You can spend as much time with the dogs when you want to and don't need to stress out when you are traveling. Huge benefits for you emotionally and it's important for these dogs to socialize.
@Bain you just said NO stfu and I accept that ha!
But I suggest getting a cat if you want some company - they are much less maintenance and don't seem to mind spending time alone
I can relate OP. For me, if I just remember that Dog = Kid then I can get past the puppy finder search. Hang in there, but don't do it.
Agree it would not be possible. I have a dog and a cat and an SO who is a home based sales rep and rarely travels. We are still challenged with making sure our dog is getting what she needs in terms of active play, walking and companionship. When you are home be prepared to skip drinks/social outings because you need to get home to your dog and travel is nearly impossible at consulting levels (and while you can get a near full time sitter, the dog will be bonded to that person and not you).
D1's idea is actually brilliant lol. Problem solved
If you have a tech client that's pretty common S1. I suppose if it was a small dog and she got papers for anxiety it wouldn't be hard to travel with it either
I'm afraid there's no way around paying substantial amounts of money for a sitter with this job. I'm happy my SO is able to care for our pup. Even still we spend quite a bit on our sitter...doggy daycare for socialization, walks, and the occasional sleepover.
Look into fostering if you can get on a local project. No long term commitment and you're doing a good service.
Volunteer at animal shelter on weekends!
I had a consultant friend who travelled with her dog and somehow convinced her clients to bring him onsite. She got some sort of medical note from her doctor. It was crazy.
