Non-Fun Fact: Bad mangers are the number 1 reason why good employees quit.
Start keeping a journal of any lackluster in-person interactions including dates and times.
Try to communicate as often as possible in writing via email. And either print out hard copies or forward those emails to your personal email. It’s for your own protection against HR (who is not your friend).
Do not quit. Make them pay you to leave. You can’t apply for employment if you quit. Only if you get laid off.
Never fire yourself in advance. Let them do it, negotiate as much as possible when they do, and go from there.
Ask to keep your computer if you don’t have one!
Do not quit. If you quit, you cannot apply for unemployment. Getting fired isn’t the end of the world from the perspective of finding new employment. Fortunately our industry is based more on your talent level and the quality of your portfolio than anything else. But definitely start looking and applying, lean on your contacts to see if anyone is hiring or has leads.
If its unbearable and you have savings quit. Health is more important
If they actually could fire me, how would this affect my future job prospects? Would it be better or worse to quit before hand without a new role lined up? I’m so miserable here.
Keep the money coming in and look around. You don’t know how it is out there and it could take a VERY long time to find something new. At the very least line up some freelance if you really have to leave
You need to talk to them...ASAP. get your hr/people department involved if you dont feel comfortable. Find out what the issue is. If this is ture chances are youre not the only person. And if it is your fault somehow you can get feedback and make adjustments.
As far as quitting, do what you have to. Waiting around to be fired can really wreck your mental health (trust me).
