Outings are generally supposed to be fun, so there isn’t much to worry about.
Team outings can be all sorts of things. Sometimes we do scavenger hunts, try fun challenges (like “Minute to Win It” games), go bowling, or even have mystery-solving events. A lot will depend on your company’s style and budget sometimes it’s a simple dinner or a group volunteer day, other times it gets competitive with problem-solving games or outdoor activities. The vibe is usually pretty relaxed, even if you’re nervous at first. You’ll have a chance to get to know coworkers in a different way, and there’s not much pressure to be “on” all the time. Most people just appreciate the break from routine (and the free food if there’s any).

Ask a colleague or ask HR.
"next month" is not enough time for you? hahaha u want a 6 month notice?
I wouldn't worry too much about it. Outings are usually to build camaraderie among team members. It's usually more relaxed and fun. Just go with the flow and have fun.
They are typically supposed to be fun and casual team building social events.
I don't always find the activity itself fun, but I enjoy connecting with my colleagues as people pride of a work context.

Eh it was fun. I probably got too comfortable and over shared.
It will be awkward but fun, about as much fun as you can responsibly have with coworkers. We did a pickleball tournament before and it’s a good way to have people come out of their shell and know people, but there will be awkward moments
