Just find something challenging. Maybe side hustle, new hobby...
Agree, new skills as well. Maybe learn to code if you're technologically inclined.
Wait till you get back to the office. There’s enough chit chat and long lunches with your team/ fav coworkers to fill up your day. You’ll be grateful for environments that are not so hectic. If you want a challenge, make your process area better. Automate things. Take on more projects. This will also help you get promoted quicker. With your free time, take on hobbies. Spend time with family.
Find a hobby. If you’ve only got 4 hours of work on day, find stuff to do online/near your computer so you’re available if work comes up but you’re stimulated. I’d do online workout classes or take up some baking. Find something that’s “easy” to put down if you’re called to get something done.
Look for a side hustle, many other ways to make money now on the side. Accounting pay is just for the bills. I have been dying to look for a job like this, I would use all this extra time to learn about stocks, forex and all other side hustle

Don’t leave yet - enjoy it. Take advantage of the extra time you have to do something else.
Rising Star
I think it's best to wait it out. When I first moved to industry I was bored, but over time I took on more and more responsibilities, learned more, and got to move around to different more challenging roles when stuff opened up. But when it was slow at the beginning it was good for my mental health. I spent time with my SO and got dogs, I started a new workout routine and diet, and I took up knitting.
I’m in industry and pace is no different, so a slower pace is not always the case. Pay was also significantly higher in industry.
Have you reached out for stretch assignments/to be included in other relevant meetings?
If I were reviewing your resume, a 6 month stint wouldn’t be a concern as long as you could explain you weren’t challenged, etc.
I am joining industry too. I plan to take coding classes and online learning programs offered by my new company. Wish big4 offers and covers more external learning opportunities. So I will be still busy. Excited to get out of PA.
