I recently left Deloitte after almost 4.5 years. Since they had pension, I got my pension offer. Either I could take $313/ month for life or rollover a lumpsum of $65k into 401k. Looking for suggestions. I am 32.

How did you get so much? 65k is a lot!!! Roll over the money to 401k

like

That was my guess. Sorry for the bad news

401k bruh

like

I would make sure you understand the details. Is the 313 and 65k now or at 60, for example. Can you leave it for higher amounts later when you retire? If now, do you need 313 now

Are you sure it’s 65K in 4.5years? That seems like quite a bit. Also, I though anything above 30K and D manages your pension, even after you leave?

Yeah.. even I was surprised. But I guess it was bull run while last few years. That might have impacted

I would just make sure that is not the amount at retirement age. If that is the amount you would get now, that is pretty high for 4 years

Roll into an IRA you can self manage

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?

Best place to get pre-qualified for a mortgage?

I have some collections on my credit report. One from an electric company for $800 (imo they violated terms of contract and sent me to collections in spite of their fuck up), and an apartment for $80~ that charged me a cleaning fee when my apartment was spotless.

Despite these two collections have a 712-720 credit score.

So mortgage lenders care at all about the collections or is it mostly the credit score that matters?

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.
