I start a new job soon. Monthly billable requirement is 120. It's a small-mid sized firm with big-name clients. I'm a baby attorney so billing will be new to me. There is potential for up to 25k in bonuses my first year (first year is on salary and then moves to percentage-based). I have to bill a couple hundred k for bonuses. The firm takes 10% for anything I don't bring in and I have to split with attorneys I work on cases with. How do I approach fee splitting so I can reach the bonuses?

I am a new (lateral) associate at a small firm where everyone currently works from the office. When I started, I wasn’t told specific firm hours. I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law.
