I start a new job soon. Monthly billable requirement is 120. It's a small-mid sized firm with big-name clients. I'm a baby attorney so billing will be new to me. There is potential for up to 25k in bonuses my first year (first year is on salary and then moves to percentage-based). I have to bill a couple hundred k for bonuses. The firm takes 10% for anything I don't bring in and I have to split with attorneys I work on cases with. How do I approach fee splitting so I can reach the bonuses?

Don't call yourself a baby attorney.

This sounds suspect to me…I don’t know of firms of any size that start treating junior attorneys as shareholders after a year.

It sounds too good to be true. Just be careful friend.

I agree. With that arrangement might as well just hang a shingle.

man only 120 hours a month would be a dream lol

Don't get too excited. I'm sure they're getting paid for 120 hours too. That's a good deal for some people, but most chase the big bag of money.

Unfortunately, I got an email today from the system, they decided not to move forward :( Should I reach out to her abt this?

I'm a third year plaintiff's employment law attorney and I'm looking to move to defense, preferably still in employment law. I received an offer from a midsize firm that primarily focuses on PI with little-to-no employment law practice, so I'll have a bit of a learning curve. Offer is $90k, billable hours of 2100. Is this reasonable? I'm dead-set on leaving my current job, and this would be a $20k pay increase - which makes me believe I'm leaning towards taking it for those reasons only.
