I wouldn’t cash them out. I would redeem them as points to whatever airline you use. Read the points guy. Sometimes airlines like British airlines will have short term offers where you get 140% of your points if you redeem to that airline. Also if you have an airline/hotel you typically use you should have a personal credit card with them to earn even more points. Also sign up for hotel/airline promotions. For example if you fly delta and sign up for the SPG promotion, every time you fly delta you get SPG points too and vice versa. I ultimately think reading The Points Guys website is a greater starter for anyone not familiar with the best way to use points
I’d suggest you to save your 50k MR Points for now. If you get another 25-30k you’ll be able to fly business for free.

I second D1 don’t cash them. His advice is on point. Been traveling for 7 years rarely pay for hotels / airlines unless the wife is feeling fancy 😎
If you have $10,000 in expenses a year then it is worth it to pay the Amex fee to keep the points
Graduate college, work and earn perks like these so there's no real guidance at home. Relaying on colleagues and you guys for veteran advice. Thank you!
Just cash them out and use them.
Agree with D1 and M1, we read the points guy and look for fare sales. Did a vacation recently to Europe and did not pay for flights or hotels using just Delta miles, Amex points and Marriott points. We will have enough points by end of this year to book a trip to Asia now using miles and points.
Hey op, did you register with amex at the beginning and pay that 100 or so subscription fee to be able to log and redeem points? I haven't registered with amex yet ..and with my limited travel, others have said it's not worth it ?
Thanks all. Appreciate the advice.
I checked and have close to 60k. Guess I'll save up. I don't see a way to transfer points to Emirates sadly. Just etihad.
Find a lower cost flight then use points. The lower the cost, the lower the points required. Cost fluctuates by the day. Try to book on Tuesdays and consider booking int’l flights about 4-5 months in advance & in the off-peak season
