I want to get out of IT audit but don’t know if grass is greener on the other side. My total comp is 130k in a LCOL and fully remote. I also get to travel internationally to exotic places in Asia and Europe. Everything is good except I don’t want to wear the audit label forever. To me it’s an easy job I rarely work 40hrs and I’m very good at it I just don’t know how long I can keep doing this. I know I’m capable of getting another job but I may have to work much harder for a marginal raise

AWS vs Cloudflare BDR roles

AWS lowballed but I negotiated to match Cloudflare. Cloudflare offers more equity but AWS has a higher base.

I love Cloudflare. The people are great but it’s an engineering culture and the sales team isn’t as well shaped up and I can’t go for a promotion until at least 18 months of tenure. I am an investor in the company and think of them super highly. I’ve already got half a years SDR experience and AWS promotes quicker.

How does IT SOX audit in industry usually do during recessions?

I studied finance in undergrad and had a couple of internal audit internships. I only started a few month ago but I never saw myself doing IT Audit and I don’t like it thus far! Would I need to get a CPA in order to move into audit or something more finance/accounting oriented like FDD, Valuation, etc.? (Still need to get to 150, thinking of doing an online MAcc)
