I was recently laid off from a big five firm and find myself looking for another position as an executive assistant. I am 54 years old and worry that my age may make it harder for me to find a new job. I am devastated. I was fully committed to working there until retirement and now I find myself in a very vulnerable situation. Any older executive assistance on here have any stories with happy endings I’m trying to find the positivity in this, but definitely scared.

If I was a junior on a team during a campaign launch, is that something I can put in my book? I helped during the concepting phase, was responsible for keeping the boards up to date, and wrote a lot of the supporting materials (print, social etc) but obviously I was not on the shoot or the lead on writing the script. Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I only bring in a little over $2,600 a month. After paying all my expenses, I get to put away $500 a month in savings but don’t have much wiggle room for anything else, including going out money.
