I work for a boutique consulting firm as a change management lead. Over the past year I’ve worked on several employee initiatives (in addition to my project) and leadership has noticed my work. I was asked to apply for a role in corporate - great fit with my skills/interests but more responsibility, req YOE but no pay increase. 1st interview went great but I’m not sure if I should continue. Any feedback/suggestions are appreciated

As we aren't youngsters anymore and have fewer work years ahead of us, I would ask yourself which role will be more fulfilling in the long run? While a salary bump would be nice, especially with inflation, at this stage in my career, I am more interested in happiness than following the money.

That’s a great point. Thank you

The other point I’d add to D1’s excellent point is to consider the likely longevity of each role. At this stage in our careers extending the duration of our years of earning decent money is more important than modest differences in salary between jobs.

Agree. Thank you

I completely agree to do what will make you happiest! (Follow the joy, not the money) But also think about this —> corporate jobs could be more open to layoffs. I would not want to be looking for a new job at my age…
